What I'm Building
Research tools, simulations, and experiments. Sorted by gravitational pull: what's closest to me right now floats to the top.
Highest Gravity
TransPlan
2024Data-driven tool helping transplant patients identify the best US cities to maximize their odds of receiving an organ match. Analyzes 50+ factors across 22 cities using open data.
reef.science
2024Concept-graph-driven STEM learning platform — 4,148 micro-concept nodes, 300+ parameterized question generators, and a full community layer. Built for engineering students preparing for the FE exam and beyond.
nuyu
2025Open-source biological self-knowledge system — a 67-page interactive curriculum, 26-module diagnostic PWA, and the foundation for a custom aromatherapy alarm clock. Built on the premise that you can't optimize a system you haven't read.
More Projects
Space Medical Simulation
macOS research tool for modeling medical event risk on space missions using Bayesian Belief Networks and NHPP Monte Carlo simulation. Built with Dr. Eric Petersen of the APEX Aerospace Surgery Fellowship (University of Arizona) for SpaceX commercial crew missions.
FreeMedEd
Free interactive medical education platform with real-time heart sound synthesis (28 pathologies), procedurally generated 12-lead ECGs (28 rhythms), structured courses (139 lessons), adaptive quizzes, concept graphs, and exam blueprints. No recordings, no static images. Everything generated live in the browser.
Calcium Correction
Mechanistic ML model predicting ionized calcium from nine routine ICU labs — outperforming the 50-year-old Payne formula by 22%. Built on 130K+ MIMIC-IV measurements with multi-database external validation across 131 hospitals.
SUGAR
Computational platform for enzymatic synthesis pathway discovery between sugars. Enumerates all monosaccharide stereoisomers from first principles, generates rule-based reactions, and provides interactive pathway finding with Yen's K-shortest-paths algorithm.
Consensus-Fracture Theory
Python framework implementing five competing mathematical theories of group formation — threshold cliques, force fields, quantum superposition, information cascades, and thermodynamic phase transitions — with prediction tournaments to test which assumptions actually matter.
Nyvia
Multi-agent AI physician decision support system built as a proof-of-concept for the Arizona governor's office. Deterministic safety gates, dual-agent diagnostic consensus, and append-only audit trails — designed to draft the policy framework for a state AI Healthcare Act.
Curiosity Is
Long-form interview podcast about medicine, computation, and the questions that don't have clean answers yet. Three episodes live, each a 40-60 minute conversation with researchers working at the edges of their fields.
Interplanetary Speciation
Computational framework modeling how long it would take human populations on Mars and Earth to diverge into genetically distinct species, using SLiM forward-time population genetics simulations.
Tangency Foundation
501(c)(3) student-run nonprofit advancing activism literacy through scholarships, micro-grants, advocacy training, consulting, and the Activist HQ podcast. Built a 12-piece open-source Action Kit for grassroots organizers.
Astronautica Cooperative
Speculative cooperative framework designing the first member-owned pathway to human spaceflight. Not a rocket company — a governance model. The thesis: the same people who want to go to space should own and operate the organization getting them there.
MatchStudy
Linear algebra framework modeling the medical residency Match as spectral decomposition of applicant and program feature spaces. Explains why competition clusters and why small CV changes don't help.
Encabulator Institute
Deadpan scholarly archive documenting 82 years of the Turbo Encabulator — a fictional industrial device that became a genuine cultural artifact of technical satire. 63 demonstrations cataloged, 14+ variants traced, 50+ fake terms glossed.
Global Health Dashboard
Real-time outbreak context dashboard combining 633 WHO disease alerts across 99 countries with health system capacity data for 270 countries. Automated pipeline refreshes every 12 hours — zero API keys, zero cost.
SubgroupSignalStudy
Simulation-based power analysis for detecting rare gene-environment interactions in autism research. Models four study designs across 0.1–2% genetic subgroup frequencies to answer whether prenatal acetaminophen effects are detectable before any empirical study is run.
Binder
Production-ready ML pipeline for designing therapeutic protein binders. Chains RFDiffusion scaffold generation, ProteinMPNN sequence design, ColabFold structure prediction, and MD validation.
Quack or Snack
A platform for raising awareness of pseudoscientists, health misinformation, and science denialism while celebrating the communicators fighting back. 100+ sourced profiles with danger ratings, credential analysis, and claim debunking. Community voting and annual awards drive discussion about how we police disinformation, with a little fun mixed in.
Hb Occupancy
Analytic probability mass function for hemoglobin tetramer occupancy — how the four binding sites distribute across oxygen states at each pO₂. Compares the naive binomial model against cooperative Adair kinetics with experimental validation against Winslow saturation curves.
Morty Awards
Makey or Takey? An awards platform celebrating the makers and exposing the takers in tech, AI, and science. Community-sourced profiles with impact/damage metrics, contribution tracking, and incident documentation.
SwiftSafari
Medium publication on data science and machine learning implemented natively in Swift. Covers evolutionary algorithms, neural networks, and computational tools built from scratch without Python dependencies.
P-Index
Interactive framework for optimizing project portfolio allocation. Models efficiency curves to decide not just what to work on, but how much effort to invest in each project.
DateMe
A dating app with a 100% match rate, 0 competitors, and exactly 1 user on the platform. The algorithm always finds your perfect match because there is only one person to match with. Features a multi-step quiz, fake testimonials, character references from a dog and a pothos plant, and confetti.
